Hi, I'm Emily.

I'm Type A to my core, so bringing all the little details together is something I naturally love. My favorite part of every wedding is still the ceremony. Watching two people choose each other in front of the people they love never gets old.

When I'm not at the barn, I'm usually cooking for a full table of family with my husband, Luis. We met by chance on a quick Uber ride seven years ago, so I'm a big believer in celebrating the little moments.

With you from the day you book, not just the day of.

A day-of coordinator usually joins in the final weeks before a wedding. Here, I'm part of your planning from the start, so by your wedding day I already know your vision, your vendors, and every corner of this property. Coordination is built into your experience, not added on.

Plan

From the day you book, I'm your go-to for questions, recommendations, and guidance. We'll work through your ceremony, reception, vendors, floor plan, and timeline together, one piece at a time.

Prepare

As your day gets closer, we'll walk the property together, finalize your design, and turn your plans into a clear game plan: timeline set, vendors confirmed, and everyone knowing where to be and when.

Celebrate

On your wedding day, I lead our on-site team, coordinate your vendors, cue your ceremony, and handle the unexpected. If something comes up that I can solve without you, I will.

Your Design Consultant

Hi, I'm Megan.

I've always been a creative person. I studied art, design, photography, and marketing, and I spend more time than I'd like to admit tracking what's new in wedding style. My look is chic and current, with room to go eclectic when a couple wants something unexpected.

As one of the owners, I know every corner of this barn and every piece in our collection. I care how these spaces look, for you and for every guest who walks through the doors.

Outside the barn, you'll find me painting watercolors, making happy messes with my kids, walking our dog, or tracking down good North Carolina barbecue.

A creative mind is rarely tidy.

Design included, not added on

Your vision, without the craft-store runs.

Without a designer, couples often buy décor themselves, spend weekends assembling centerpieces with friends and family, then try to resell it all afterward. Here, you work with me and our in-house collection. You choose the look, and we handle the pieces, the setup, and the breakdown.

We start with your Pinterest boards and Instagram saves to learn what you love, what you don't, and the colors you're drawn to.

Design

In our design consultation, we look through our binder of ready-made collections, pull real pieces from our inventory, and build mock-up tables right in the space. You see it all in person and decide how hands-on you want to be. Most couples leave with their full design set.

Bring It to Life

Our collection is large enough to scale any design up for something grand or keep it simple and refined, with pops of color and personal touches along the way. On your wedding day, our team sets up every detail.

Heritage

Fully custom design across multiple sessions with me. If your vision calls for something we don't have yet, we'll add it to our collection at no extra charge to you.

The People Behind the Barn

A Family-Run Venue, Not a Franchise

We're a family business in the truest sense. The Heritage Barn is run by two families, Megan and Erik and Joe and Lindsay, each with three kids who keep life busy. We love celebrating life's special moments, and we built The Heritage Barn to create space for others to do the same.

Though we're not originally from here, we fell in love with this community - and with the idea of giving couples a place to gather the people they love.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many guests can the venue accommodate?

The space can accommodate 150 people indoors and up to 350 when using indoor and outdoor space.

Do I have to use an approved vendors list?

We have a preferred vendors list but you can hire your own vendors if you’d rather. We just ask that each vendor is licensed and insured.

Are there any restrictions on decorations?

Confetti and glitter aren't permitted (a $500 cleaning fee applies if they're used). A limited number of real flame candles are allowed.

Do you offer on-site coordination or event planning services?

Absolutely. Every package includes on-site support. Essential comes with a dedicated venue representative for planning and the wedding day, and our Classic and Heritage packages include a dedicated wedding coordinator.

Can we host both the ceremony and reception at the venue?

Yes! Your ceremony can be at any of our three outdoor ceremony sites or inside the barn. Reception will be in the barn and surrounding covered patios.

What time can we start setting up, and how late can the event go?

Personal items and alcohol can be dropped off the night before. Depending on your package, you'll have 9 to 12 hours of exclusive access on your wedding day, and more time can be added. Events end at 11 PM, with personal items cleared out by then. A later end time may be available for an additional fee.
